Hi,

I recently bought a Google Chromecast Google Chromecast with Google TV - 4K with remote Streaming device White, and i lost my remote. In the process of setting it up and pairing it with my mobile I had to do a force factory reset resulting it to almost a device that cannot be used any further. Is there a way, I can use this? How to set it up without a remote. Please help me

i also cant set my google tv up as i lost remote and accidently reset google tv wiping the Wi-Fi it was connected with.. now i have no way to set up google tv as it requires initial setup to have remote to connect to your wifi for the first time

Hi. You can download a Bluetooth remote from the Google Play store to your mobile device and try that

Hi again. I don't have any particular recommendation. I would suggest search Bluetooth remote on play store and see which works and which one you like.

The second question I'm not entirely sure of as I have not done that before. Might be one to try and see and post here if it works!

Have you got a friend with a remote you could borrow for the initial setup?

Neo2808 and 314, the setup of the Chromecast with Google TV only relies on the Chromecast Voice Remote. If you lost your Voice Remote, you can visit our Google Store to purchase it. Also, you may try the suggested step provided by Jch12, but please take note that this may or may not work.

Hi Neo2808,

I understand. Using a third party app in place of the physical Voice Remote isn't guaranteed to work on setting up the Chromecast. It's still best to purchase a new Voice Remote to set up the Chromecast with Google TV. Again, you can visit our Google Store to purchase a new Voice Remote.
