audio cuts in and out

When Trying to watch something that doesn't have the option to çast, I use "smartview" on ny android. Used to work wonderfully. Now, the audio cuts in and out. The video still plays but the sound is intermittent. Have rebooted and restarted and adjusted settings. Nothing seems to fix it.

Casting from the Android directly relies heavily on your hardware and network. Check out this Google Chromecast Help page: Improve your Android screen casting experience - Chromecast Help

Edit: Try using the Google Home app instead of smart view to cast your screen. I use that but still run into glitches. Always better to find a Cast enabled site.
