Have you already tried a factory reset on the Chromecast?

-yes

First, on your iPhone's home screen (for iOS 14 or later):

Tap Settings.
Tap Privacy

Local Network. You’ll find a list of apps.
Turn on Local Network Access for the app(s) you would like to allow access to your network. This will allow permissions for your device to discover Cast-enabled devices.

-Already enabled

If that doesn't resolve the issue, You can also try to manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how:

Go to the iPhone’s Settings
Open WiFi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.)
Go to the Google Home app and try to set up again.

-connect to chromecast ssid

“You are currently not on the same Wi-Fi network as your device. Please connect to the appropriate Wi-Fi network to resume setup.”

-connect to the listed network the chromecast is connected to

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Try the additional steps listed below:

Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
Reboot your Chromecast device.
Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
Reboot your mobile phone.
Try a different mobile device, if one is available.
Factory reset your Chromecast device.
