When using the remote to turn volume up and down whilst watching YouTube and prime video live sports it causes stuttering.

Thanks for posting. Let's sort this out.

Quick questions: is this only happening when watching from YouTube and Prime Video live sports? When did the issue start?

Try theses steps:

Reboot your Chromecast with Google TV.
Clear the cache and data of the affected apps.
Uninstall and reinstall the affected apps.
Plug in the Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV.
Reset your Chromecast Voice Remote and Chromecast dongle.

No change. It only affects anything playing HD. BT sport and bbc IPLAYER also affected but not the ads on YouTube. Only noticed a couple of months ago. Using the remote on my phone also causing interference.

Yikes! Could you please try to reboot your Wi-Fi router? Also, if you have another TV, please try to plug in the Chromecast with Google TV so we can isolate the issue.
