Chromecast with Google TV won't connect to 5GHz WiFi with 80MHz width

Using a TP-Link "AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Router". Trying to connect the Chromecast to it in the 5GHz WiFi range. If I select 20MHz or 40MHz width on the router, the Chromecast connects fine. If I select 80MHz the chromecast hangs at the "acquiring IP" step and then gives up after a long timeout. An older Chromecast (3rd generation) has no issue connecting to the exact same WiFi network, regardless of the width I set.

Using the lastest firmware version, 1.61.304433

I apologize for the late response, thank you for being patient! That is an interesting interaction, I'd be happy to talk to the Chromecast Engineering team to see if this is intended. In the meantime, are you able to keep the Wi-Fi bandwidth between 20MHz or 40MHz, or do you need to set it to 80MHz for your particular setup?

Hi Jeran,

As a workaround I will keep the device on the 2.4 GHz network until the issue gets fixed. The increased bandwidth is not mandatory in my setup, but highly beneficial due to the high number of devices in the setup

Hey there MaxTranced,

No problem at all, in this scenario, would you be able to submit feedback via Google TV? That way, the device logs are sent to the Chromecast Engineering department, and if there were any error logs generated when you attempted to connect to the 80MHz Wi-Fi, they could look into this.

In the meantime, did you have any other questions or concerns I can address?

I will try to do that the next time I'm in that house, which will be a few months from now... I did not know that the logs would be helpful for this, I would have sent them on the spot if I did.
