Why can't we sign into Chromecast anymore?

Why have you stopped allowing sign in on the older Chromecast units. I can no longer call out to Google and ask it to play music on my Chromecast without it pausing because it can't sign in.

You have basically made this device useless. If I wanted to control it by using my phone and manually casting I can just cast to the TV directly

Very disappointed as you did the same thing to my chromecast audio, now forcing me to subscribe to YT music to use it at all.

I'm really sorry that you're disappointed with the inability to sign in on the older Chromecast devices. I know this is a feature I've used in the past as well. If you don't mind, would you be able to submit feedback via Google Home to let Google know that this is something you'd like to see return? Google takes all submitted feedback seriously, and the more feedback they receive regarding a particular feature, the more likely they are to prioritize it.
