Cannot access BBCiPlayer. BBC says app is not supported on this device.

This was the only reason I bought it. How can it be installed?

Currently, the Chromecast Google TV HV runs Android 12 which is not supported yet by the BBC app.

The work-around is that you are able to cast to the device. 🙄

I couldn't understand why Android 12 was the problem, but as you say its the iPlayer app that needs to catch up. Hopefully soon.

Hi @bryan999

The first Chromecast Google TV was the 4K device which came by default with Android 10.
So the app is supported on that device.

The Chromecast Google TV HD was recently released but ran by default with Android 12.
The update for the Chromecast Google TV 4K just has been released, so the app shows as supported on this device on the BBC website (based on Android 10).

Thanks but it has been explained, It's the BBC App that isn't working with the Chromecast/Google TV. So not a Google issue as such.

Good to know you are keeping an eye on me. I'm enjoying the rest of the content that I can access and YouTube which I couldn't get on my not so smart TV
