Chromecast with Sony AV receiver cannot play over speaker group

Hello,

I connected my Chromecast to my Sony AV receiver over the hdmi DVD slot. I can hear music over the 7.1 system (TV off) alone, but when adding to a speaker group with my nest speakers I can no longer stream music. I checked that all appliances are connected to the same WiFi, that seems not to be the problem. Does anyone have a suggestion what might be the problem? Is my Chromecast not compatible? Thx

Hi AngelY,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Please try to steps below:

Plug in the Chromecast directly to the TV and test.
Disconnect the existing session.
Close the app that is currently playing music. Try to cast again.
Reboot all of the group members and wait for about one minute for all of them to go back online before trying to cast again.
