Can't Connect Chromecast- says I need to disable AP isolation (Fios Router)

Very disappointed in this Chromecast. It seems like you need a degree in IT just to set it up. So when I use my phone to connect, I get a message that I need to turn off AP isolation. I have Verizon Fios Router model # G3100. I logged into the router and I can't find any setting for AP isolation. An quick google search suggested I turn off the self-organizing network and I did that. Guest mode is disabled. I've tried turning the IoT network both on and off. No luck. The stupid thing still cannot connect to Wi-Fi, which is the whole point of getting a Chromecast.

You know what connects to the internet with no problem? My laptop. My roommate's laptop. Her iPad. Her iPhone. My android phone. My Kindle. An Amazon fire stick. ADT security panel. No problems at all. But Chromecast just won't donnect to wi-fi. This seems like a major flaw in the technology. Any ideas on how to fix this or should I just send the stupid thing back?

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue setting up your Chromecast. Let's sort this out.

A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? What's the LED status on your Chromecast? Are you using a dual band router?

Give these steps a try:

Turn off/on the Wi-Fi slider on your phone settings.
Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
Reboot your Chromecast, Wi-Fi router, and mobile phone.
Plug in your Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV.
Manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: go to the phone settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set it up again.
Connect to a mobile hotspot to isolate the issue.
Perform a factory reset on your Chromecast. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.

After spending a lot of time searching the internet, I found a solution. In my router settings I turned of the "self organizing network" feature and my Chromecast started working just fine. My roommate works from home and I was terrified that I'd broken the internet just in time for her next Zoom meeting, but fortunately the internet seems unaffected and I can watch my HBO now. Everybody is happy. But man that thing was a pain to set up! Way to complicated for the average person. If I knew that I would have to adjust router setting when I bought it, I would have stuck with the Amazon fire stick.
