same sort of problem with connecting my chromecast.changed my wi fi password and finding it impossible to now connect my chomeast.keep getting"unable to connect,"

Do a full reset set it up like new. You should be able to then use your Chromecast. Let us know if your run into any trouble.

Mitch67, we hope that helps but if you're still having trouble, please manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: go to the phone settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set it up again.
