Chromecast remote not turning on TV

Chromecast remote doesn't turn on our TV (Sony KDL-48R510C). It can turn it off though once I turn the TV on with the TV remote. Our Amazon Fire TV remote was able to turn on the TV so I know the TV is capable of doing it (but it's not plugged in right now).

Problem solved. Needed to change the remote settings to use the IR transmitter for my old Sony TV.
