google chromecast crashes

trying to play either spotify or amazon music using google chromecast. every 4 songs chromecast crashes and i have to restart. i thought getting a newer phone would help. still crashing. is it because my tv is 15 yrs old? i thought upgrading to the newer chromecast would solve but no. is it just because google chromecast sucks????and is a waste of money

Thanks for reaching out. Please uninstall and reinstall the affected apps and reboot your mobile phone. Resetting your Chromecast might also help.

Finally nice to hear from someone. Been there done that many times with no success. Spotify or Amazon music crash after 4 songs. I am usually running Google photos in ambient mode at the same time but still crashing without. Some days are better than others

Hey there,

Thanks for getting back to us. Have you tried plugging in your Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV? If you haven't yet, please try that and test. Plugging in your Chromecast into a different TV screen might also help.

tried switching hdmi ports. no help. every 4th song i have to press the back button or arrow button on the chromecast remote and then press play on my cell phone to restart the music. plugging my chromecast into a different tv is not an option. i am trying to listen to music in my living room thru my sound system.

Thanks for the update. Could you please try disconnecting your sound system and leave the audio alone in the TV then check if the same issue will persist?

i disconnected the optical toslink cable from the tv and used my tv sound. 4 songs and crash. no difference
