Chromecast Remote not working & overheating

Hello,

This month I bought a Chromecast during vacations and I'm very satisfied with the product, though the remote has been concerning as of lately.

After not using it for a couple of days I noticed that it was out of battery and, while weird, I changed them, but it keeps not starting and overheats a lot in my hand without the LED even lighting up.

I already tried pairing it manually or resetting it in some way but the only thing it seems to be doing is eating up my battery's charge.

Does someone know how to fix it? It's a bit of a pity to have to change the item so quickly after buying it.

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us.

Try these additional steps:

Try to check if there are stuck buttons on the remote.
Check for pending remote software updates. Go to Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Remote update > Continue. The remote might briefly disconnect during the software update.
Perform another factory data reset (FDR) on the Chromecast with Google TV dongle and Voice Remote.

After doing the steps, please observe the behavior of your Chromecast Voice Remote and keep me posted.
