Setting up Chromecast 4K

I am attempting to setup my new Chromecast and while the TV recognizes the device and the device connects to wifi, when I go to the Google home app to set it up and select Chromecast, it doesn't recognize the device. It just keeps taking me back to the menu where it asks what type of device you are trying to add

Hello Pwgordon,

Thanks for reaching out. Please reinstall the Google Home app and reboot your phone then, manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how: go to the phone settings > Open Wi-Fi and connect to the Chromecast SSID (Example: Chromecast1234, Living Room TV, Bedroom TV, etc.) > Go to the Google Home app and try to set it up again.
