Missing TV apps

I have an android tv which has all the tv apps I need so I thought I buy a new Chromecast HD to update my old tv to work like the android tv.

I cant get All4 or UKTV apps on the Chromecast but they are both on the android TV.

Why is this, they both use play store, is there a way around it before I get rid of this junk!

I've tried contacting both developers but have not had any reply.

I still don't understand why the apps aren't available on what is effectively the same platform, they are both android tv.

Also, I wasn't really sure if this was the right place to ask as its not nest related but the google site sent me here, there were no options for chromecast tv.

We hear you. I've checked the website of All4 and UKTV apps, it looks like they only allowed to cast content from these apps from a mobile device to the Chromecast. Installing these apps in the Chromecast with Google TV isn't available yet. See the links below:

Thanks for getting back to me Jennifer.

I had already checked the above sites.

What I was questioning is why both apps are available on my TV which is android/google tv based but not on the Chromecast TV which is effectively the same system?

The reason I just bought this was to convert my old TV to work like the new one so was a bit disappointed to find apps I use missing, surely this is more of a google compatibility issue rather than the app developers fault?

Hi M111,

I understand why you feel that way. Though these apps are available to download on Android/Google TV devices, it is still considered as a different device. The app manufacturer will decide on which devices they would like to install their apps. It would be best to reach out to them and send feedback about this so they can consider this in the future.
