will it work with converter box, tv, and dvd configuration? currently i watch tv thru the dvd player. i can set up chromecast with the converter box and tv. i dont know if i have to dismantle dvd player

Chromecast is designed to be connected to the HDMI input of a TV, anything else is not supported by Google. That's not to say it won't work, just that your mileage is going to vary here.
