Chromecast remote freezing

Remote freezes when holding down the volume buttons, or repeatedly pressing the volume buttons. Have to wait a few seconds before I can use the remote again.

You may want to try a factory reset to the remote. How to factory reset your Chromecast voice remote - Chromecast Help

That may help get the freezing to stop.

Ok, did the factory reset but it still freezes. Also, when it does freeze, the white light blinks twice.

Replace batteries would be my next step. It may be an actual problem with your remote though. If it's under warranty you can use the contact us option or you can purchase a replacement at the Google Store.
