Can't watch anything from Peacock or Paramount +

Hi,

I have a Chromecast 4K since November 2022 (purchased the one that came bundled with a Stranger Things "Eleven" Funko Pop!, part # GA04317-US) and I noticed that there are a few apps that seem to work fine but everytime I tried to watch anything from them, I can see the ads but not the show or movie (just stays perpetually in a black screen with a oscillating wait indicator). I tried to fix it performing a factory reset of the unit and after just activating again my Peacock and Paramount + apps, I'm still having the same issues.

Somewhere else I read that this is an issue with the older versions of the Chromecast device and this was fixed with the 3rd generation streamers but is a shame that I could not be able to use a new device that I acquired like nearly 3 months ago. Is there any fix for this?

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Is this only happening with the Peacock and Paramount+ apps or across all apps? Please clear the cache and data of the affected apps and reinstall it. Rebooting your Chromecast and plugging it on a different HDMI port on your TV might also help.

Hi Jennifer,

That does not solved the problem. I factory resetted the Chromecast and reinstall the apps. There are some that always worked like Netflix or HBO Max but the ones I mentioned (Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock) run but the streaming contents stays in a loop and don't run at all. Seems like a compatibility issue with the Chromecast because these apps run with my other streamers.

Got it. If the issue is isolated with these apps, it would be best to reach out to the app developer for additional help and for them to check this on their end.

Anyone else is having issues with Paramount + and Peacock with the Chromecast 4K? These apps run perfectly with my Nvidia Shield, Amazon Fire TV and TIVO streamers, all Android TV devices. Either the Chromecast is defective or its a piece of junk that can't run these apps.
