A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? Are you setting up your Chromecast with Google TV? What's the make and model of your mobile phone?

Give these steps a try:

Check if your Chromecast is on the same Wi-Fi network as your phone or tablet.
Make sure your Chromecast is within 15 to 20 feet of the setup device and the Wi-Fi router.
Connect other devices to the Wi-Fi network.
Try to connect to a different Wi-Fi network or a mobile hotspot.
If you're using a dual band router, make sure you're connected to the correct network connection (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz).
Check if the router has a hidden network name or SSID.
Force close the Google Home app.
Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
Reboot your Chromecast device, router, and mobile phone.
Use a different mobile phone.
