Chromecast over LAN connection

I have just connected my smart tv directly to the modem and established a LAN connection. My Chromecast is now saying it can't connect to the wifi. Is it possible to use my Chromecast with the LAN connection?

Hi ZK42,

Thanks for reaching out. To set up your Chromecast using a hard-wired connection, your LAN must be connected directly to the Chromecast not on your smart TV. You can check out this support website article to learn more about using a hard wired connection to your Chromecast.
