it is not available at Google's own online store.

Yes, out of stock for a very long time now, that's why I start thinking it is discontinued.

As far as I am aware, the Ethernet adapter should not be discontinued. I'll go ahead and check with Support over at the Google Store to see why the devices haven't been in stock for so long. I'll update the thread as soon as I learn anything.
