Chromecast suddenly won't cast

I was using my chromecast earlier through the "cast my screen" option in the google home app. It worked perfectly. Suddenly when I press cast my screen, the TV screen turns black, it says "casting has ended" a few seconds later, and then it says chromecast can't connect to wifi, or something to that effect. I did a factory reset, unplugged and plugged chromecast back in, uninstalled and reinstalled the home app, and restarted my phone. Nothing worked. Please help!

Osric7, how's it going? Did you manage to get your device working? If the issue persists, please use a different mobile phone. Plugging in the Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV or a different TV screen might also help.
