How to stop the WiFi MAC address randomization?

Hi there,

To use my wifi, it requires a whitelist MAC address. I've got the Chromecasts MAC address from the about section however, when I try to connect with the WiFi, it doesn't work.

The instructions are as follows:
The Chromecast with Google TV (HD) has MAC address randomization on by default. This means it generates a new MAC address for each SSID connection. To use device MAC for Chromecast with Google TV (HD), do the following:

Connect to an open network to complete setup
Navigate to Settings -> Network.
Click the MAC-allowlisted PSK network you want to connect to and enter the password. The connection will fail but you can change the setting to use Device MAC instead of randomized MAC.
Re-connect to the MAC-allowlisted network to complete setup.

What I'm stuck with:

I've connected the device, set it up (on another network) and then I've connected to the MAC address whitelist WiFi, it's failed.... but where do I then go too to change the settings to use Device MAC instead of randomized MAC?

So frustrating. Can't you just give the option to switch it on or off in the WiFi settings somewhere?

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! To stop the WiFi MAC address randomization on the Chromecast with Google TV HD, you need to go to the Chromecast's settings and disable the "Use randomized MAC" option. Here's how:

On your Chromecast, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
Select the Wi-Fi network you want to change the MAC address for.
Scroll down and select Advanced.
Under "Privacy," uncheck the box next to "Use randomized MAC."
Select Save.

Once you've done this, your Chromecast will no longer use a randomized MAC address when connecting to Wi-Fi. I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.
