Chromcast Verification Email

Hi All,

probably stoopid and doing something wrong but ... Trying to set up a new chromecast with Google TV (which I didnt actually want - the Google TV part). I can get as far as verifying the google account but I have been waiting almost 2 hours and still havent received the email. Is there a way of bypassing the logging in to a google account? All other Chromecasts i have had in the past didnt need to be signed in to google. Just want to stream Netflix and the like.

No, unfortunately. You must have a Google account to set it up.

Are you using a non-Google email address or did you create a Google account?
