Hi namvt,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. I’m assuming that this GGCC 4K you have is a Chromecast with Google TV (4K). A few questions: what particular app are you trying to search for? And what exact command did you use? Is this only happening in one app or across all apps?

I look forward to your response.

Thanks,

My Google Assistant on GGCC 4k might be having issues where any question or request to open the app is answered with a Youtube video suggestion title. When searching for apps to install always get the answer "sorry I don't understand...". I'm really annoyed with this problem and haven't found a solution yet!

Thank you for reply!
1. The device I'm using is a Google Chromecast 4K
2. I search for popular applications such as: Youtube, Netflix, Tivimate... and almost all other applications have the same situation.
*The command I used specifically:
+ Open Youtube
+ Open Netflix
+ Open Televisionmate
At the same time, questions about the names of movies like: Aquaman, Fast & furious... google assistant only shows suggestions on Youtube.
All of the above commands when used on my MiboxS 4k device running AndroiTV 9 are very normal, google assistant answers questions and interacts very well, and on Chromecast I want to emphasize all the answers All suggestions are on Youtube.
I have tried to deal with and factory reset many times, change Google account but can't find a solution...
3. Another problem I discovered when turning off the Chromecast, the device does not turn off completely (the lights are still on) and always stays connected to Wifi so the device is still hot, I am concerned it will affect the durability later of chromecasts.

Right now my experience with Chromecast is really bad. I do not speak English and have to ask google translate, hope you understand!

Thanks!

Hi Kimy

I seem to have found that the problem with the Chromecast is in the language section. When I switch the language on chromecast from Vietnamese to English, google assistant works normally again. All the questions asked about app recommendations, movies, search... were answered very well. Then I switched back to my country language, Vietnam, but google assistant got the same error...

I think this issue is related to OS bug on chromecast.

Hello there namvt,

We appreciate the update! The Google Assistant and Google Chromecast have not officially launched in Vietnam. For some features to work, you need to change the language to a supported one like English (US) as a workaround, like what's happening on your end. I highly recommend sending feedback to our product team, which continuously works to improve the overall experience of Google products.

Let us know if you have additional concerns about your device; otherwise, I'll close the thread after 24 hours.

Thanks,
Lovely
