Cast icon missing in Android devices for Netflix

Since yesterday the Netflix app cast icon disappeared in both my Android phone and laptop, but works fine in other apps like Youtube, Amazon Prime, etc. I've been using this feature for years and nothing changed since then (besides regular Android updates)

I've called Netflix support, turned off/on the modem, enabled the guest mode, reinstalled Netflix, restarted all the devices but nothing helps.

Anyone can help me?

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. What did Netflix tell you? It could be account-related or the limit on the number of streaming devices. Apparently, your Chromecast device is working as intended, as all other apps are working fine. I suggest you contact them to dig deeper into this matter. Also, you can try to do a factory reset and see if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the follow up. I didn't do the factory reset yet as I don't think this will help because the issue only is affecting Netflix. I'll try this week...

I did a factory reset as suggested and reconfigured the device but nothing changed. Reinstalled the Netflix app and the issue is still happening.

Hi Claudio,

Thanks for trying the steps. The Chromecast device seems to be working as intended. It could be related to the network or the server too. To isolate it, try to disconnect it from Wi-Fi and connect it to your mobile hotspot. If it still didn’t work, then you need to clear this with Netflix. Keep us posted.

Hi Kimy

I did the following:

Uninstalled Home and Netflix from the phone
Chromecast factory reset (using the button, not the app as I did before)
Reinstalled the Home app and configured the Chromecast in the phone
Reinstalled Netflix in the phone and now is working
Opened Netflix in the tablet (without doing anything) and is working
