Is it possible to add widgets on the Chromecast screen?

I can have it display a weathermap from Windy.com, which is cool to have on the projector, but I was thinking it sell more units if it could show more info about my computers functionality, houses temperature, friends online in various social and game networks, email notifications, new videos from subscribed youtube channels, weather, calendar to do lists and things like that displayed on connected monitors and projector screens.

No, at this time, Chromecast devices do not support widgets.
