    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am using Chromecast 1st generation. It was running fine. Due to some reason I had to perform a Factory reset. Now I am trying to connect my device back to the network but unable to do so.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am getting different kinds of errors&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1. Google Home app is not able to detect the device. (The problem was solved when I keep my mobile android device right next to the Chromecast device)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2.After the device is detected, I move to next steps where a code (eg. V9D9) is displayed on TV. Sometime the device is not detected at this stage and I do not see the code (I did a factory reset and this problem is solved)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3. Chromecast device is not able to connect to the Wifi network or it does not get the internet&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have tried various things like performing factory reset, connecting via different android device, connecting to a mobile hotspot (different wifi network), keeping my Wifi Router within 4-5 feet of the Chromecast device, plugging the chromecast device into a different HDMI slot on TV&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please guide as how to solve the problem. Just a week back the Chromecast device was working fine and I was casting on TV. But now I am unable to do it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Based on your description, it seems like you’ve already taken the necessary troubleshooting steps (factory reset, trying a different setup device, mobile hotspot setup, etc.). Since we’re talking about a Chromecast 1st Gen (2012), it’s possible that it may have reached retirement. I suggest you buy a newer version now.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I’ll keep this thread open for one more day. Feel free to create a new one if you have questions in the future.&lt;/P&gt;
