Lost chromecast remote

So my remote has fell down my couch and I cant get to it without taking my couch apart which requires to break my couch. but now I cannot use my chromecast, I thought resetting it might allow me to set it up without the remote, but the only way to get passed the first step is my holding down the home button and the left arrow, which I cant do without a remote. I have gone to 5 different electrical shops, and all of them have told me that I cant buy a replacement remote. Surely there is some way that I can use my chromecast without the remote. Thanks

I would suggest you that you should cast from your phone or by a replacement remote from trade me in nz etc

Unfortunately, resetting it was a bad idea; you can't finish Setup without the physical remote.

You may be able to order a replacement remote from Google.

If this happens again, do NOT reset. Instead, if you have an Android device try using the virtual remote to keep going until you get a new physical remote:
