Green screen when casting from Chromebook to Chromecast

We are trying out Chromecast (gen 4 with google tv) at our school to enable casting from Chromebooks to Epson Projectors. When initiating the cast things work well but then after a few minutes, the screen will start getting green blocks eventually taking over the entire screen only then to disappear and start over again (I have included a photo below). We have tried changing the resolution, refresh rate, tried casting to the Chromecast plugged into a smart TV, tried a different Chromecast device, tried different devices to cast from, tried on an isolated network, nothing seems to resolve the problem. Any suggestions?

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I don't imagine it's much fun trying to see past green blocks! Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

When did this issue start happening?
Do you meet the Chromecast requirements?
Did this same issue occur when plugged in the Chromecast to a TV?
What is the firmware version of the Chromecast?
What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
