Chromecast with google Tv, remote battery drains in a day

For a few weeks now, I am having the strange issue where the remote control batteries drain withing a day.

I am using rechargeable batteries, good brand and always fully charged.

I have 2 Chromecast, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, I swapped remotes between Chromecasts with no change, using the same rechargeable batteries brand with both remotes.

I tried resetting the remote, checking for firmware update, checked for stuck buttons...

I don't know what to try next.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Luckily I bought a pack of four AAA rechargeable batteries and change them every day.

Hi everyone,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with your Chromecast Voice Remote. I wanted to confirm, is this how you did the factory reset? Try as well to unplug the USB-C connection from the Chromecast device to disconnect it from the power source. Leave the device unplugged for one minute, then plug it back in.

I contacted a Google representative and after describing the issue and the troubleshooting I tried he decided to rma de chromecast and remote.

Today I received an email that a replacement has been shipped
