Google TV remote stop working and overheating causing the batteries to die

I try removing the battery holding down the power button and replacing the battery. Note the White lite doesn't come on after I install new batteries. I check both set of battery with a Ohm meter. the remote is killing my batteries. I test new battery before installing them showing 1.46volts after sitting in the remote after a week kill my new batteries.
