Chrome cast won't connect to my phone

Hi my chrome is connected to the network but it still won't connect to my phone. It says it's a communication issue. Not sure what to do.

Those kinds of errors mean your phone can't communicate properly with your Chromecast. Try these steps:

Make sure your Chromecast is within 15 - 20 ft (4 - 6 m) of the Wi-Fi router if possible.
Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone or tablet, if not already turned on.
Turn off mobile/cellular data.
Reboot your router. Most routers just require that you unplug the power source and then plug it back in to reboot.
Reboot Chromecast by removing the power cable, then reconnect it.
Reboot your phone or tablet.
Make sure you're using the latest version of the apps you want to cast from, by checking your app store for any updates.
Restart those apps.

Android: Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then let go. Swipe up on the app.
iPhone/iPad: Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then let go. Swipe up on the app. On older devices with a home button, double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the app.

Turn Wi-Fi off and on again on your phone or tablet.
Reopen the app(s) you want to cast from.

Just to add on since it's an iPhone follow these steps :

On your iOS device’s home screen (iOS 14 or later), tap Settings.

Local Network. You’ll find a list of apps.

Turn on Local Network Access for the app(s) you would like to allow access to your network. This will allow permissions for your device to discover Cast-enabled devices.

If this does not work, be sure to restart both your phone and your wifi router.
