Device: Chromecast with Google TV HD

Router: Asus AX86U on most recent firmware

I recently purchased a Chromecast with Google TV HD and ever since I have started using it, my entire wifi network will become unavailable periodically, usually at least once per day, depending on how much I'm using it. Using it more seems to cause the network crash more frequently. Unplugging the Chromecast and rebooting the wireless router is the only way to recover the network, but the router itself is not actually crashed. This problem never existed before I started using the Chromecast. If I leave the Chromecast unplugged for days, there are

Details about the wifi config (5 GHz network):

- Control channel 52

- Channel bandwidth 160 MHz

- WiFi Agile Multiband - Disabled

- Target Wake Time - Disabled

Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi DrLuveno,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. This is one bizarre situation. I don’t remember encountering one here yet. You didn’t mention any issue with the Chromecast’s functions, so I assume that it works well except for what happens with the network while it’s working. Let’s try to isolate it by disconnecting it from your own WiFi and connecting it to another network. If there’s no other network (friends' or family members' WiFi, etc.), your phone’s mobile hotspot can do. Connect your Chromecast with Google TV (HD) together with another smartphone or laptop and observe if the behavior persists. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy
