3rd Generation Chromecast

Hi,

I am hoping someone could please help provide me with the steps to change the energy saving options on a 3rd Generation Chromecast. My Samsung tv keeps turning off after a period of time and it didn’t do this prior to installing the Chromecast. Thank you

Hi John39,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. The Chromecast 3rd Gen has no feature to shut off the TV on its own. It can communicate via HDMI-CEC, but with no command coming from another device (Google/Nest speaker or display for voice command), it would not initiate. To isolate this, try it on another TV and observe. You can also try a factory reset for a full clean-up, then set it up from scratch. Let us know how it goes.
