Chromecast remote big button buffers on television turn on

When I turn on my television (all 6 of them, not just one), the big button appears to be unresponsive.

I click it several times. Then after about 10 seconds, it receives and processes all the button clicks, which then sends the cursor position all over the screen, depending on what direction I hit

It is not unique to any particular chomecast. All of mine are the google 4k(3 devices) or google HDMI(3 devices) TV version

what I can tell you is that it started with the March update.

I recently bought a TCL TV with Google TV on it.

It was working until the TV applied the March update. Now it exhibits the same behavior

And yes I already went through the usual troubleshooting, such as battery change and device hard resets

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. There’s an ongoing update that will be rolled out in the coming days. It includes patch fixes for most of the recognized bugs. Although this may not be a recognized bug, hopefully the update helps in fixing it. Once you have the update available, make sure to install it. If it's not available yet, give it a few more days. Let us know if you have other concerns.
