Connect Google TV to Google Audio Speakers

Can I watch Google TV through the USB connector on my TV and cast the sound to my google speakers? I know I can connect through Bluetooth, but it sounds really bad. It wasn't possible last winter, and before I buy it again, I'd like to ask the community. Any news on a fix?

No, you cannot do that.

Also, Chromecast with Google TV connects to your TV's HDMI port. Not the USB port.

OK, thanks. I know Amazon does this so I'm a little surprised it's still not available. I like Google products a little better, but this is becoming a deal breaker. Hopefully it's being considered since the competition does it.
