&lt;P&gt;That is a great question, I believe this is a matter of preference. The TV eARC port needs to be plugged into the Receiver eARC port.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you have other components plugged into the TV, I would plug the Google TV into the TV as well so you only need to switch inputs on the TV.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If your other devices are plugged into the receiver and you have enough ports to plug the Google TV in, I would plug them in there as well. This way you only need to change receiver inputs. If you are needing to switch to a receiver input for one thing and then change the TV input for another it is a cumbersome experience.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The quality should be the same with either option. Let me know if you have further questions.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;So, I have a chromecast with google TV, and both my TV &amp;amp; Receiver support eARC.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My question is, should the chromecast connect to the receiver or the TV?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I guess one important difference is that when the receiver output goes to the TV then the TV can display the GUI from the receiver which is nice...&lt;/P&gt;</description>
