Google TV plus Chromecast 4K constantly rebooting

My Google TV plus Chromecast is constantly rebooting. It is using the bundled power supply.

This started about a month or two after my purchase. Finally have some time to troubleshoot, but nothing has worked. Tried factory reset but now can't even get past the remote pairing without a crash and reboot. Every minute or two.

Hello and welcome to the community,

First, make sure you have the Chromecast powered by the wall outlet and not a usb on the tv. Next, make sure you have the Chromecast updated to the latest version.

Since you have a Chromecast with Google TV, the update doesn't appear in the Google Home app. You need to access your Chromecast updates from your TV. To do this on your Chromecast with Google TV home screen, choose Settings -> System -> About -> System update.

@Captnyesterday, thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. I’m sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Since we’re talking about power, let’s take it from there. Try to move the device to a different power source (room), and also consider the possible issues with the power cord or plug. You can isolate it by trying an Android phone’s charger. If it persists, give it a whole day (24 hours) of rest just to drain it completely, then try it the next day. Let us know how it goes.
