Cast from Google Photos

Very noob question, sorry. I am able to cast YouTube from my phone to our LG TV (they are on the same wifi). But when I try the cast feature from Google Photos, it says there are no other devices on the network. Does that mean the TV alone cannot receive photos?

When you cast from YouTube, you are not REALLY casting. The YouTube app on your phone is talking to the YouTube app on your TV. It's confusing because it uses the same icon but it is really not the same.

Google Photos and other apps require a Chromecast Device (or a TV that says "Chromecast Built-In") with the full casting features included. The reason those are not working (and you are getting the "no device" error) is because you don't have a Chromecast device attached to your TV.
