How to use Chromecast for older TV with only RCA connections?

Is it possible to use some type of inexpensive adapter to connect a Chromecast with a TV that only has RCA type connections or are those RCA connections only for output?

Sometimes when we travel, not frequently, but an older TV only has the RCA connections in the back and I can't use my Chromecast with that so looking for alternative way to make it happen in those situation.

The short answer is "you can't". Chromecast requires an HDMI connection. That is very different than RCA connections. It is not just different cables. HDMI is a 2-way connection where the TV passes information back through the connection to the Chromecast device. RCA is one-way. They data goes only to the TV.

In theory, you can get converters (search for "HDMI to RCA convertor") but they may or may not work and there isn't much you can do if they don't work.
