Hi ShaggyManG,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. I seem to understand why nobody experienced the same thing because this seems to be an error on the actual TV. After all, there’s no such Chromecast error message, and you mentioned that it operates through the error screen itself. Try to refresh the communication between these devices by rebooting (by unplugging from the power) both the TV and the Chromecast device. If it persists, try to isolate it by testing the Chromecast device on another TV. Let us know how it goes.

We look forward to your response.

Thanks,

Got myself a new Chromecast HD to replace my temperamental 3rd Generation. The setup was going well, until the TV decided it did NOT like my new Chromecast. The television popped up with a large yellow error screen talking about a BUS error, then stopped responding to both the remote and physical buttons, but the Chromecast setup finished, and was running through the transparent error screen.

Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a fix? I'm aware I have a 13 year old LG television, but surely the tech can't have changed that much between Chromecast generations. Is this something that a warranty replacement can fix?
