Google assistant voice search not working

I brought the Chromecast with Google TV (2022) yesterday. The google assistant voice search was working fine until today when it doesn’t take in my voice commands. When i hold onto the button, the display comes up and gives me suggested searches.

Anyone with any help?

UPDATE:

Seems like the bug has been fixed. People in the thread are saying the same.

I have bought the Chromecast 4K TV

Fantastic experience, everything works except when today the assistant doesn't accept voice commands.

Either I push the assistant icon from Chromecast remote or using my phone as a remote, it opens the dialog, it shows the green mic icon on the right, but doesn't receive my voice commands.

Hi, first time posting! Got a Chromecast last week and all has been going great, but the voice control has suddenly stopped working. You press the button on the remote and the voice control box pops up, but when you hold it down and talk, it doesn't register anything. A few minutes later the voice will say "something went wrong, try again in a few minutes". I tried rebooting the remote but now the remote keeps disconnecting every 20/30 minutes or so! Any ideas how to fix??

I started having that same issue today as well. I reset and still having the issue. I wonder if this is a big on the latest update?

I started having this problem yesterday in both of my Chromecast with Google TV.

Was planning on posting, after I have time to collect details on the equipment.

Same issue - started yesterday here for me. Happening on multiple chromecast devices. Assistant works fine on phone and on Nest speakers/displays.

I have the same issue starting yesterday on both the Chromecast and Google Assistant on a Sony TV. Definitely something global/server-side.

I just bought mine and it worked about twice, but then factory reset both remote and chromecast, unpair, pair again.. did every troubleshooting I found. Nothing, assistant comes up, suggested searches, but it won´t take a voice command. Then after a while it sais "something went wrong, try again in a few seconds" or it says "there was a glitch"
It came with remote firmware 26.0 and updated to 26.6. None of them worked

Having the same issue on my Google TV. Tried to use the assistant button on my remote and it will come up with the mic icon and then assistant just shuts right back off. Tried through the virtual remote in the app still no luck. Affecting both my bedroom and living room tv. Surprisingly not affecting my kids TVs.

Escalated and the Chromecast team is checking with the Assistant team currently. Hang tight and they should update here as soon as they get some more info.

I started having this issue today. I tried changing the remote batteries, forgetting the remote and then pairing again, rebooting the Chromecast, unplugging the Chromecast, and using the remote in Google Home. Surprisingly, the Voice command in the Google Home device remote feature does the same thing as far as showing the Assistant button is active on the Chromecast, but nothing is heard.
