Turn off in 1 hour voice command is not working

Hello everyone,

How can I make Chromecast to turn off the TV in 1 hour. "Turn off TV" voice command is working but "Turn off in 1 hour" is doing nothing and Chromecast says "Sorry I can't do that. Sleep timers can only be set if there's media playing". I'm watching tv using an app. Is there any solution to this problem?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Unfortunately, the command that you gave is not supported not just in Chromecast but also with other Google Nest speakers and/or displays, as it may affect a lot of functions. Functions such as timers, sleep, routines, calendars, etc. may affect home automation functions, especially the scheduled ones. You may need to set the sleep mode for particular time frames that you want it off.
