I am setting up a chromecast HD. When I set it up, I go through all the steps including attaching it to the wifi. After setup, I go into the Google Home App and it says "can't see (my tv) on this wifi network". There is only one wifi which my phone is connected to. The tv is playing YouTube TV so I know it's connected. But in the Google Home App, I can't control the volume and all that.

My reasoning is that I want the Google mini to control the Chromecast tv for my elderly grandfather and it's not connecting.

If it’s a recent purchase do your grandfather a favour and get it changed for another device as they can’t seem to fix any issues with these rubbish aging software devices
