Randomised mac address issue

Hello.

I've recently bought a Chromecast to test on our school.
The only internet we have to connect this device to, requires us to preapprove the MAC adress, before it can connect.

But since the device by default connects with randomised mac adress, then i can't approve it, and then it will not connect.
The option to disable randomised mac adress appears on the chromecast AFTER you connect to the SSID.

Any suggestions on this issue?

Chromecast isn't designed to be used in an environment that uses MAC address filtering (extremely uncommon in the consumer space which the product is designed for), and this is one of the reasons unfortunately.

If you use MAC address filtering, the only way to resolve this is to:

Temporarily disable MAC address filtering on the network.
Setup Chromecast as normal with the Google Home app.
Once setup, on your Chromecast itself, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
Select the Wi-Fi network.
Scroll down and select Advanced.
Under Privacy, uncheck the box next to Use randomized MAC > Save.
Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
Tap the Devices tab, then tap your Chromecast.
Tap the Settings cog at the top right, then Device information. You'll see the MAC address at the bottom.
Whitelist this MAC address on the network as it's the true MAC address.
You can then re-enable MAC address filtering on the network.
