Anyone have any experience with this issue? any way to fix it?

CEC works otherwise with volume etc. It usually turns the TV off as well, just not always.

Based on your description, it seems that it’s working as intended, and the challenge could be related to the HDMI communication between the TV and the Chromecast device. Try switching to a different HDMI port. You can also reboot both the Chromecast device and the TV to refresh communication. Let us know how it goes.
