Cant Add device to setup remote controller for TV in chromecast 4K

I have chromecast 4k and i have paired the remote successfully.

I want to control My TV over the chromecast remote and for that I follow:

settings- remotes and accessories - setup remote buttons- add device- TV

when I select TV option in add device it jumps be back to setup remote button page without doing anything.

firmware:

android tv: 12

kernel:4.9.269

tv os build: STTE.231215.005.11281923

Remote : 26.6

i also have chromecast HD with me in that the TV works fine

I factory reset the chromecast and the problem is solved.

There has to be a solution to this that isn't "factory reset the device"

Does the option work for you now you've factory reset it or does it do as it did before?
