Can an unknown device from outside connect to my tv?

I went to pair my phone with my google tv to see if I could use the screen mirroring option and couldn't figure it out. However, while I was searching for ways to connect, I saw an android phone I don't recognize (I have an iphone) in the list of accessories that were already paired. I don't recognize the name of the person either, and it's my bedroom tv I bought new 5 months ago. I would like to know if there's any way neighbors or people outside my home can connect to the tv or hack their way into it?

First off, iPhones cannot do screen mirroring. Apple declined to support that.

You can still cast from thousands of cast-enabled apps. You just can't mirror.

Second, anyone on the same WiFi network can see and use Chromecast devices on that network. They do not have to ask for permission. Are you in a shared-WiFi situation? If so, that could explain the other devices.

Otherwise, if they are NOT on your WiFi, there is no way for other people to connect to your Chromecast device.
