Chromecast HD forgets Remote control

Hello,

I have Chromecast with Google TV HD. Every 30 minutes the remote control doesn’t work because Chromecast forgets it!! When I pair it again, it works fine, but after certain time it doesn’t work again! When I check Bluetooth setting using Google Home app I see that the Chromecast Remote is not there!!

Please help because this sucks.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. I assume that this is about the actual Chromecast Voice Remote and not the virtual remote found in the Google Home App. If this is the case, try this workaround:

Remove the batteries and give it a 2 to 3 minute rest.
While the batteries are out, press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds to fully drain any static power left on the chipset/motherboard of the Chromecast Voice remote, then release the button.
Let the remote rest again for 2 to 3 minutes. Take this time to unplug the Chromecast device from power and give it a 1 minute rest before you plug it back in.
Pair and observe.
If it persists, you can factory reset the remote and pair it again.

If it still fails, then it could be an issue with the remote’s module on the actual Chromecast device. I suggest you do a full clean-up by performing a factory reset and setting it up from scratch to remove any corrupted files or data.

Thank you for reply.

I did all the steps which you mentioned above - none of them helped. However, I found out what was the problem. Chromecast was connected to my 2,4 GHz Wifi and Chromecast Remote uses Bluetooth connection (also 2,4 Ghz). Since I connected Chromecast to my 5 GHz Wifi, the remote control never disconnected.
